YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Your room may be personal. This policy explains what information we collect, why we need it and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

The Design Hotline provides virtual interior design services through thedesignhotline.com. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@thedesignhotline.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect information that you choose to provide through inquiry, contact, questionnaire and testimonial forms. This may include your name, email address, Instagram handle, general location, room type, household information, budget, timeline, design preferences, questions, measurements, written messages and links to photographs or inspiration folders.

If you become a client, we may also receive room photographs, measurement sketches, inspiration images, project correspondence, payment status and records needed to provide the service. Please do not submit sensitive personal information that is not relevant to your room.

Our website and hosting providers may automatically process basic technical information, such as an IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, dates and security logs. If payments are enabled, Stripe will collect payment and transaction information directly. We do not receive or store your full card number.

3. How we use information

We use information to review inquiries, communicate with you, confirm whether a project is a fit, provide and improve the Designer Edit, process payments, maintain business and tax records, prevent fraud, protect the website and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross context behavioral advertising.

4. When information is disclosed

Information may be processed by service providers that help us operate the business, such as website hosting, secure data storage, Google Workspace email, cloud file services and Stripe payment processing. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect our rights or safety, investigate fraud, or complete a business transfer. We do not authorize service providers to use client room materials for their own marketing.

5. Room photographs and testimonials

Room photographs and project materials are used privately to provide your service. We will not publish them in a portfolio, on social media or in marketing without separate permission.

If you submit a testimonial and give permission, we may publish the approved feedback with your first name, general location and room type. Your email address will not be displayed. You may ask us to remove a published testimonial by emailing us.

6. Retention and security

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of record.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No website, email account or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Links you provide through Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud or another service remain subject to your sharing settings and that provider’s practices.

7. Your choices

You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information held by The Design Hotline by emailing hello@thedesignhotline.com. We may need to verify your identity. Some records may be retained when required for taxes, transactions, disputes, security or other legal purposes.

You can control access to an external room folder by changing its sharing settings. Doing so before the service is complete may prevent us from delivering the work.

8. Cookies and browser signals

The website may use essential technologies needed for hosting, security and basic operation. We do not currently use information for targeted advertising. Because there is no universally accepted standard for browser Do Not Track signals, the website does not respond differently to those signals at this time.

9. Children

The website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted information, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

10. International processing

Our service providers may process or store information in the United States or other countries. Privacy protections may differ from those in your location. By using the website and submitting information, you understand that this processing may occur where permitted by law.

11. Policy updates

We may update this policy as our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version and update date will appear on this page.
